Tragic Sledding Accident in Texas Claims Life of 16-Year-Old Girl
In Frisco, Texas, a 16-year-old girl died and another teen is in critical condition after a tragic sledding accident during the intense winter storm. Investigators believe a 16-year-old boy was driving a Jeep Wrangler while pulling the two girls on a sled, which struck a curb and then collided with a tree. The Frisco Police Department responded to the area and found two 16-year-old girls with life-threatening injuries, one of whom died, and the other remains in critical condition.
According to the police department, about an inch of sleet was on the ground at the time of the accident, making the surface extremely slippery and leading to the deadly accident. The police urge people to stay alert, stay indoors when possible, and avoid any unnecessary outdoor activity until conditions improve.

The Tennessee Valley Authority, a major utility across the South, said freezing rain and sleet caused power interruptions across both TVA-owned transmission lines and local distribution networks in northern Mississippi, northern Alabama, Kentucky, Middle Tennessee and parts of East Tennessee.
