The Gophers have also sought the Vikings’ advice on how to implement helmet communications between coaches and players, which was introduced by the NCAA in 2024.

The Vikings have been able to scout and recruit talented players from the Gophers, such as quarterback Max Brosmer, who signed with the team as an undrafted free agent.
