High School Basketball Results: A Recap of Wednesday’s Action
Wednesday was an exciting day for high school basketball, with numerous games taking place across the region. The City Section saw Harbor Teacher dominate Alliance Ted K. Tajima with a score of 67-27. In the Southern Section, Apple Valley emerged victorious against Lawndale with a score of 91-70, while Ayala edged out Beckman 52-43.
Boys’ Basketball Results
The Southern Section saw a plethora of games, with notable wins from Barstow, who defeated Bloomington 74-44, and Bell Gardens, who took down Baldwin Park 49-31. Beverly Hills also secured a win against Ontario Christian, with a score of 57-47. Other notable results included Brea Olinda’s 62-51 win over Irvine and Burbank’s narrow 56-52 victory over Keppel.
Girls’ Basketball Results
In the Girls’ Southern Section, Arcadia dominated Riverside Poly with a score of 58-37, while Bishop Amat took down El Segundo 55-35. Cerritos also secured a win against West Covina, with a score of 51-29. Chino Hills edged out Beaumont 49-47, and Colony defeated Brea Olinda 62-56. Cypress had a strong showing, defeating Santa Ana 64-19.
Intersectional Games
In intersectional play, Cleveland had a standout performance, defeating Whittier 109-44. Cypress also had a strong showing, taking down LACES 66-28. Granada Hills narrowly defeated Highland 48-43, while Grant edged out Lancaster 52-51. La Jolla Country Day dominated Linfield Christian 88-40, and Lynwood took down Diego Rivera 64-22.
Notable Performances
Morton (IL) had a notable win against Mater Dei, with a score of 73-71. North Torrance defeated Eagle Rock 58-33, and Orange Lutheran took down Carlsbad 69-59. Pasadena also secured a win against Metamora (IL), with a score of 66-59. Rancho Christian dominated San Diego Lincoln 72-43, and San Pedro edged out West Torrance 68-62.
