Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, is scheduled to be arraigned in a Los Angeles court for the murders of his parents. County medical examiner, they died from “multiple sharp force injuries.”
Reiner is charged with two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances. Police records obtained by CBS News show that the LAPD responded to the Reiners’ Los Angeles home seven times between 2013 and 2022, including twice on the day the couple was found dead.
These incidents include a welfare check and a mental health call in 2019, as well as minor disturbances in 2013, 2014, and 2017. The bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner were discovered in their home on the afternoon of December 14, and Nick Reiner was arrested several hours later outside a gas station convenience store in South L.A. without resisting arrest.

Rob and Michele Reiner’s other two children, Jake and Romy Reiner, released a statement expressing their “unimaginable pain” after the loss of their parents.
