Santa Margarita Prepares for Trinity League Showdown with Win Over Eastvale Roosevelt

Santa Margarita continued its preparation for the upcoming Trinity League season with a 65-49 win over defending state Open Division champion Eastvale Roosevelt at JSerra on Friday night. The Eagles, now 18-2, have one final tuneup game against Fairfax at St. Francis on Saturday before facing St. John Bosco at home on January 9. Led by Drew Anderson’s 19 points and 10 rebounds, Kaiden Bailey’s 14 points, and Brayden Kyman’s 13 points, Santa Margarita almost lost a big lead in the second half but managed to prevail.

The game started with the Eagles taking a commanding 16-2 lead, setting the tone for the rest of the night. This win showcases Santa Margarita’s strength and readiness for the Trinity League, which is expected to be highly competitive. Girls Basketball Highlights

Ontario Christian remained undefeated with a 100-49 win over Carondelet, led by Tatianna Griffin’s 32 points and 11 rebounds, and Kaleena Smith’s 29 points. Brentwood handed Thousand Oaks its second loss of the season with a 73-50 win, as Reena White scored 21 points. Lexi Joko scored a career-high 26 points for Troy in a 59-42 league-opening win over Sonora.
