Dalio describes Digital Ray as a natural extension of what he’s been doing for decades. After founding Bridgewater in 1975, he began documenting his decision-making processes and feeding them into computers to improve company operations. This approach has clearly worked, with Dalio’s net worth now standing at an estimated $15.4 billion, and Bridgewater managing nearly $100 billion in assets, making it one of the world’s largest hedge funds. These numbers are expected to improve as the model continues to absorb more of Dalio’s thinking, eventually becoming “much better educated and much better at processing many complex considerations more quickly than I can,” Dalio predicts. As noted by Bloomberg, the development of A.I. clones like Digital Ray has the potential to revolutionize the way we approach decision-making and knowledge sharing.
Dalio envisions a future where people have their own personalized A.I.s, which will be called “My A.I.s,” taking in and keeping out information to ensure they are well-curated to suit each person’s preferences. He would love to eventually congregate a group of A.I. clones to work together as a committee of advisors, pushing the limits of what is possible with this technology.
