Tragic Loss: Rob Reiner and Wife Michele Found Dead at Brentwood Home

Longtime Hollywood star Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead at their Brentwood home on Sunday in what police are describing as an apparent homicide. The news has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and beyond, with many paying tribute to the beloved actor, director, and advocate.

A spokesperson for the Reiner family confirmed the deaths on Sunday evening, releasing a statement that expressed profound sorrow and requested privacy during this difficult time. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is investigating the deaths, with law enforcement sources indicating that a family member is being interviewed in connection with the incident.

Investigation Underway

According to the LAPD, the bodies of Reiner, 78, and his wife were found at their home in the 200 block of Chadbourne Avenue. Police are working to secure a search warrant to conduct a thorough investigation inside the residence. LAPD Chief Detective Alan Hamilton stated that the department is not seeking anyone as a suspect or person of interest at this time and will not release further information until the investigation is complete.

Earlier on Sunday, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical aid call at the Reiner residence, where the two bodies were discovered. The LAPD has increased patrols in the neighborhood as a precautionary measure, with Councilmember Traci Park expressing concern and sadness at the news.

A Legacy of Creativity and Advocacy

Rob Reiner had a five-decade-long career in Hollywood, with notable roles in iconic sitcoms like “All in the Family” and directing hits like “When Harry Met Sally,” “The Princess Bride,” and “This Is Spinal Tap.” He was also a leading voice in politics, co-founding the American Foundation for Equal Rights and advocating for children’s issues through his work on Proposition 10, the California Children and Families Initiative.

Reiner was married to Penny Marshall from 1971 to 1981 and later married photographer Michele Singer in 1989. Michele Singer Reiner began producing films in the last decade, including “Shock and Awe” and “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues,” both directed by her husband.
