Marilu Henner Shares Her Thoughts on the “Taxi” Cast
Marilu Henner, the 73-year-old actress from the “Aurora Teagarden Mysteries,” recently shared her thoughts on the beloved sitcom “Taxi,” which she starred in from 1978 to 1983. In a podcast interview on “Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan,” Henner expressed her opinion that the “Taxi” cast was hotter than other popular shows of the time, including “Cheers.”
Henner’s comment sparked interest, as “Taxi” was a highly acclaimed show that ran for five seasons and followed the lives of a group of cabbies in New York. The show featured a talented cast, including Danny DeVito, Judd Hirsch, Carol Kane, Tony Danza, Jeff Conaway, Christopher Lloyd, Randall Carver, Andy Kaufman, and Jack Gilford.
The “Taxi” Cast: A Look Back
Unfortunately, some of the cast members have passed away over the years. Andy Kaufman died in 1984 at the age of 35 due to lung cancer, while Jack Gilford passed away in 1990 at the age of 81 from stomach cancer. Jeff Conaway also died in 2011 at the age of 60 from a drug overdose.
In comparison, the cast of “Cheers,” which aired from 1982 to 1993, included Ted Danson, Woody Harrelson, Shelley Long, Rhea Perlman, John Ratzenberger, Kelsey Grammer, and the late George Wendt and Kirstie Alley. Alley passed away in 2022 at the age of 71 due to colon cancer, while Wendt died in May at the age of 76.
Marilu Henner’s “PF” Theory
Henner also shared her theory about the “sexual quotient” of people or things, which she referred to as “PF” or “p—y factor and penis factor.” According to Henner, the “Taxi” cast had a higher PF than other shows, including “Cheers.” She mentioned that the only other show that might have rivaled “Taxi” in terms of PF was “Friends,” which aired from 1994 to 2004.

The cast of “Friends” included Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, and Matt LeBlanc. Unfortunately, Matthew Perry passed away in 2023 at the age of 54 due to a drug overdose.
The “Taxi” Cast Reunion
In March, the cast of “Taxi” reunited to honor Danny DeVito, who received the Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre. The reunion included Henner, Danza, Hirsch, Kane, and Lloyd, among others. The cast has remained close over the years, with Tony Danza sharing a photo of himself, Lloyd, Hirsch, and Kane out to lunch in May 2023.
Carol Kane also spoke about the cast’s close relationship, stating that they have “kept each other’s company in a close and loving way for all these years since ‘Taxi.'” The cast’s camaraderie is a testament to the strong bonds they formed during their time working together on the show.
