Fantasy Football Report: Week 11 RBs Getting Hard to Get

The best running back in the National Football League, Jonathan Taylor, is on bye this week, leaving about 10 percent of the nation’s fantasy football teams scrambling for a replacement. Taylor, who is in the running for NFL Most Valuable Player, is on pace for 25 touchdowns and could make a run at 2,000 yards for the AFC-leading Colts.

With Taylor out, fantasy league leaders are in need of a reliable running back to fill the void. Unfortunately, there aren’t many decent prospects left, making this week’s matchups even more challenging. However, there are a few running backs who could potentially step up and make a difference. These include Sean Tucker of the Buccaneers, Tyler Allgeier of the Falcons, Emari Demercado of the Cardinals, Devin Singletary of the Giants, and Blake Corum of the Rams.

Tucker has taken a bigger share of the workload since Bucky Irving’s injury, with 21 rushes for 95 yards and one TD over the past two games. Allgeier, on the other hand, has been getting most of the goal-line work, tallying 11 carries for 57 yards and two TDs last Sunday. Demercado is now the best backfield option for the injured Cardinals, topping 100 yards last week on only seven touches. Singletary is getting more work since Cam Skattebo’s season-ending injury, with 11 touches last week for 73 yards. Corum is getting an increased workload for one of the league’s top offenses, with 38 carries for 151 yards over the past three weeks.

Sitting Stars and Matchup Game

Some stars who may not perform well this week include Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, Detroit’s Jared Goff, Jets’ Breece Hall, and Rams’ Kyren Williams. On the other hand, players like Packers’ Josh Jacobs, Carolina’s Rico Dowdle, and Steelers’ Jaylen Warren may have a big game. The Eagles will need WR A.J. Brown to regain his mojo in a shootout against Detroit, while Arizona WR Marvin Harrison Jr. and Raiders tight end Brock Bowers may take advantage of meager pass defenses.

Injury Watch and Deepest Sleeper

The big injury this week was Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, making a disappointing season even worse. Other players who are questionable include running backs J.K. Dobbins, Tre’Veyon Henderson, and Rhamondre Stevenson, as well as pass catchers Davante Adams, Romeo Doubs, and Matthew Golden. The deepest sleeper this week is New England Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins, who had six catches for 106 yards last Sunday and led the Patriots with 10 targets in their victory over Tampa Bay.
