Fantasy Football Report: Week 16
The fantasy football landscape has been shaken up with the news of Patrick Mahomes’ season-ending knee injury. The Kansas City Chiefs will have to rely on Gardner Minshew for the remainder of the season, leaving many fantasy owners scrambling to find a replacement. While Trevor Lawrence is having a stellar season, he’s likely already been snatched up by another team, leaving owners to look elsewhere for a savior.
One potential option is C.J. Stroud, the former rookie of the year who had a strong performance last week with three touchdown passes. This week, he faces off against the weak Raiders defense, making him a promising pick. However, his next opponent, the Chargers, will be a tougher challenge.
Other Options
Tyler Shough, the Louisville rookie, is another quarterback to consider. He’s been getting more comfortable as a starter and has a favorable schedule ahead, facing the Jets and Titans in the next two weeks.
Other quarterbacks to consider include Marcus Mariota, J.J. McCarthy, Kirk Cousins, and Philip Rivers. Mariota has been playing well, with six touchdown passes in his last four starts, but faces a tough test against the Eagles this week.
Sitting Stars
Some players to avoid this week include Breece Hall, Quinshon Judkins, and R.J. Harvey, who are all struggling with injuries or poor performance. Tight ends Brock Bowers and Travis Kelce may also underwhelm due to tough matchups.
Matchup Game
Certain matchups can make or break a player’s performance. This week, the Giants’ poor run defense makes Vikings running backs Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason decent starting options.
