Guilty Verdict in Coon Rapids Triple Murder Case
A 39-year-old Fridley man, Alonzo Pierre Mingo, has been found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the January 2024 killings of three people inside a Coon Rapids home. According to investigators, Mingo was disguised as a UPS driver at the time of the murders. The victims, Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, 42, her son Jorge Alexander Reyes-Jungwirth, 20, and her husband, Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada, 39, were all found shot in the head.
Authorities reported that Mingo, along with two other men, entered the home on the 200 block of 94th Avenue Northwest in search of money. Two small children, both under the age of 5, were present in the home during the killings but miraculously escaped injury. Mingo was arrested approximately three hours after the murders, following a traffic stop near his Fridley home. A UPS shirt and vest were discovered in a backpack in his car, and it was later revealed that Mingo had been employed by UPS until earlier that month.

Investigation and Charges
Mingo’s attorney was unavailable for comment on the verdict. Two other men, Omar Malik Shumpert, 20, and Demetrius Trenton Shumpert, 34, both of Minneapolis, have also been charged in connection with the case and are scheduled to face their own jury trials this fall. The verdict brings some sense of closure to the community, but the investigation and prosecution of the case highlight the complexity and severity of the crimes committed.
The case serves as a reminder of the importance of thorough investigations and the need for effective prosecution of violent crimes. As the community continues to heal and process the events of January 2024, the guilty verdict provides a measure of justice for the victims and their families.
