Actor Awards 2026: “One Battle After Another” Breaks Records with 7 Nominations
The 2026 Actor Awards, presented by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), have announced their nominees, with “One Battle After Another” making history by receiving a record seven nominations. This surpasses the previous record of five nominations, set by several films over the 31-year history of the awards.
Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, “One Battle After Another” is a revolutionary saga that has garnered attention for its ensemble cast, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Chase Infiniti, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn, and Benicio Del Toro. Other Notable Nominees
The other nominees for best ensemble include “Sinners,” “Hamnet,” “Marty Supreme,” and “Frankenstein.” Historically, a SAG ensemble nomination has been a strong indicator of a film’s chances at the Oscars, with only four films in the last three decades winning best picture without a SAG nomination. “Sinners” received several nominations, including best male actor for Michael B. Jordan and supporting actor nods for Miles Canton and Wunmi Mosaku.

Oscar Implications and Snubs
The Actor Awards have consistently been a reliable predictor of Oscar nominations, with individual SAG nominees overlapping with the Oscar field at a rate of roughly four out of five. The nominees for the 2026 Actor Awards include:
- Best male actor: DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet (“Marty Supreme”), Michael B. Jordan (“Sinners”), Ethan Hawke (“Blue Moon”), and Jesse Plemons (“Bugonia”)
- Best female actor: Infiniti, Jessie Buckley (“Hamnet”), Rose Byrne (“If I Had Legs I’d Kick You”), Kate Hudson (“Song Sung Blue”), and Emma Stone (“Bugonia”)
- Best supporting male actor: Del Toro, Penn, Canton, Jacob Elordi (“Frankenstein”), and Paul Mescal (“Hamnet”)
- Best supporting female actor: Taylor, Mosaku, Ariana Grande (“Wicked: For Good”), Amy Madigan (“Weapons”), and Odessa A’zion (“Marty Supreme”)
Notably, Joachim Trier’s Norwegian drama “Sentimental Value” was snubbed, despite being considered a strong contender. The film’s lead actress, Renate Reinsve, and supporting actor, Stellan Skarsgård, were both expected to receive nominations.
