Fatal Shooting of 14-Year-Old in Burnsville Sparks Grief and Questions

A tragic incident occurred in Burnsville on Monday night, resulting in the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy from St. Paul. The victim, identified as Charles Darnell Moore Jr., was found in the lobby area of Glen Apartments on Harriet Avenue near Burnsville Parkway. According to Burnsville police, officers responded to a report of a shooting around 10:30 p.m. and performed life-saving measures on Moore before transporting him to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he sadly passed away.

A Life Cut Short: Remembering Charles Darnell Moore Jr.

Moore’s sister, Zaurice Steward, described him as a smart and laid-back individual who “was forced to grow up fast and unfortunately became a product of his environment.” She fondly remembered her brother as someone who loved his family dearly and would do anything for them. Steward expressed her grief, stating that Moore “would’ve had a bright future, just needed a little more time. He’s forever going to be loved and missed.” As the family copes with the loss, Steward has started a GoFundMe campaign to cover funeral expenses.

Investigation Ongoing: No Arrests Announced

As of Thursday, Burnsville police had not announced any arrests in connection with the shooting. Steward stated that her family had not been informed of any developments in the investigation. The incident has left many questions unanswered, including what brought Moore to Dakota County on Monday night. The Burnsville police department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.

For those seeking more information or wanting to support the family, the GoFundMe campaign is available. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of community support and the need for ongoing efforts to address violence and promote safety. For more information on this story, visit Here.
