Tropical Wave Off Africa’s Coast Being Monitored by National Hurricane Center
The National Hurricane Center is closely watching a tropical wave that is about to move off the coast of Africa, producing a broad area of showers and thunderstorms. According to the NHC, this system has a medium chance of developing into a Tropical Depression by the middle of next week.
The disturbance is accompanied by a cluster of moderate thunderstorms, which can sometimes quickly develop into tropical depressions or tropical storms in the Atlantic. However, the presence of dry and dusty air in the eastern Atlantic may hinder the system’s development. The National Hurricane Center has indicated a large orange potential development area, signifying a medium chance of development, but notes that it will take some time for the disturbance to reach the development zone.
Computer Forecast Models Predict Slow Development
The consensus among computer forecast models is that the system has a decent chance of eventually developing, but not rapidly. If it does approach the islands, it is expected to be in the general vicinity around next weekend. Some models predict that the system will turn north before reaching the Caribbean, while others suggest it may come closer. Currently, the odds of a direct impact are very low.

At present, there are no threats from these systems. However, it is crucial to recall that last year, a sudden shift in weather patterns led to the formation of storms.
