Local TV Personalities Depart from KARE 11 Amidst Controversy
Three weeks after meteorologist Wren Clair filed a lawsuit against her former employer KSTP-TV, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation, she has parted ways with her current job at KARE 11. Clair had been working at KARE 11 since May, but her departure comes as a surprise to many. In an Instagram post, Clair confirmed that she is not only leaving KARE 11 but also departing from television entirely to focus on her personal life and pursue scientific careers outside of the industry.
KARE 11 sports director Reggie Wilson also announced on LinkedIn that his position is being eliminated, and he will be leaving the station on December 31. Wilson expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work at KARE 11 and is now open to new job opportunities. His departure comes after his wife, Alexis Rogers, left the station in January due to national layoffs.

Wren Clair’s Lawsuit Against KSTP-TV
Clair’s lawsuit against KSTP-TV, filed in August, alleges that she was subjected to sexual harassment and retaliation during her nearly seven years at the station. She claims that former KSTP news director Kirk Varner and retired chief meteorologist Dave Dahl made comments about her body and appearance. KSTP-TV has responded, stating that Clair’s termination was due to poor performance and not sex-based harassment.
Clair’s attorney, Paul Schinner, has stated that the work environment at KSTP-TV was unacceptable and that Clair was subjected to sexist double standards. Clair’s lawsuit has brought attention to the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace and the need for greater accountability.
Wren Clair’s Background and Experience
Clair holds a master’s degree in environmental science and policy from Johns Hopkins University and has worked as a meteorologist at several stations, including KSTP-TV and KARE 11. She has also worked as a chemist and has taught math and science to students. Clair’s experience and expertise in environmental science and meteorology have made her a respected figure in the industry.
Clair’s departure from KARE 11 and the television industry as a whole is a significant loss, but her decision to pursue scientific careers outside of television is a testament to her dedication to her field and her desire to make a positive impact. As for Reggie Wilson, his departure from KARE 11 is a reminder of the challenges faced by the media industry and the need for adaptability and resilience.
