Arianne Zucker Reaches Settlement with “Days of Our Lives” Producers Over Sexual Harassment Allegations
Arianne Zucker, a longtime star of the soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” has reached a settlement with the show’s producers after filing a lawsuit in 2024 alleging sexual harassment and discrimination on set. The notice of settlement was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, but details of the agreement were not disclosed. Zucker’s attorney was not immediately available for comment.
Allegations of Harassment and Discrimination
Zucker, who played the character Nicole Walker on the show since 1998, alleged in her lawsuit that former executive producer Albert Alarr subjected her and other female employees to “severe and pervasive harassment and discrimination, including sexual harassment.” She claimed that Alarr would grab and hug her, making sexually charged comments and purposely pushing her breasts onto his chest while moaning sexually. Alarr’s attorney denied the allegations, stating that his client agreed to settle the lawsuit to “bring the litigation to an end” and move forward.
Zucker’s lawsuit also named Corday Productions, the company that oversees the show, and its owner, Ken Corday, as defendants, alleging retaliation. She claimed that her pay was decreased and her travel stipend revoked after she voiced concerns about Alarr’s behavior. In June 2023, her character was written off the show after 20 years, and several months later, Corday Productions offered to renew her contract without negotiating for higher pay.
Response from Corday Productions
Corday Productions previously stated that Zucker’s claims were “without merit” and that she was offered a pay increase upon renewal of her contract. The company also claimed that complaints about Alarr’s on-set behavior were “promptly investigated” and that Alarr was subsequently terminated. Attorneys for Corday and Corday Productions did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The settlement brings an end to the lawsuit, which was filed in February 2024. “Days of Our Lives” aired on NBC from 1965 to 2022 before moving to the Peacock streaming platform. The show has been a staple of American television for decades, and the allegations of harassment and discrimination on set have raised concerns about the treatment of women in the entertainment industry.
