Investigation Uncovers Alleged Predatory Behavior by 22-Year-Old Who Posed as High School Student

A 22-year-old man who allegedly posed as a teenager to enroll in White Bear Lake Area High School is facing accusations of “apparent predatory behavior” involving girls as young as 14, according to a police search warrant affidavit. The man, who has not been charged with any crimes related to his time as a high school student, is said to have used a Liberian birth certificate to enroll in the school, where he participated in three football team practices.

The school district has confirmed that the man was enrolled from September 3-29 as an 18-year-old. However, an investigation revealed that he had used fraudulent documentation and a false name to gain admission. The man’s true identity was discovered after he was arrested on September 29 in Plymouth on warrants for alleged probation violations stemming from a 2024 theft conviction in Anoka County and a 2023 conviction in Washington County for sending a nude picture to a 15-year-old girl through Snapchat.

Allegations of Predatory Behavior and Sexual Misconduct

According to the affidavit, the man’s behavior involved “friending” numerous teen girls, mostly through Snapchat, and targeting those he was interested in via social media, some as young as 14. The girls reportedly felt “badgered or coerced” by his advances, which they believed were sexually motivated. One girl, who had attended the high school’s homecoming dance with the man, warned others about him.

Investigations into possible sexual contact with girls under the age of 16 are ongoing, with law enforcement agencies involved as far south as Farmington and as far north as Sherburne County. Authorities are also trying to identify the girl seen in a sexually explicit video that the man allegedly shared with girls in Farmington and Mahtomedi.

The man’s history of attending other schools in the area has also been revealed. He was a student at Forest Lake Area High School from January 2022 to early January 2023 and played football for part of the 2022 season. He also attended Centennial Area Learning Center from early September 2023 to mid-December of that year and participated in the district’s online program until late May 2024.

Assault and Ongoing Investigation

The man was reportedly assaulted sometime between October 3-4, suffering minor injuries. St. Paul police are investigating the incident, which may be related to the allegations against him. The case against the man could be sent to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office for possible charges as early as this week.

White Bear Lake Police Chief Dale Hager has confirmed that the man is under investigation for fraud, forgery, and unlawful conduct involving interaction with minors. The investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
