Southern Section Playoffs: Girls Volleyball Results and Schedule
The Southern Section playoffs for girls volleyball have kicked off, with several teams already securing their spots in the next round. The first round of the playoffs took place on Tuesday, with teams from various divisions competing against each other. In Division 2, Rancho Christian defeated Rosary 3-2, while San Marcos won against Murrieta Valley 3-0. Long Beach Poly also emerged victorious, defeating Yorba Linda 18-25, 25-23, 25-14, 26-24.
Division 2 and 3 Results
In other Division 2 matches, Corona Centennial defeated Beaumont 3-0, San Clemente won against Louisville 25-16, 25-13, 25-17, and Redlands defeated Etiwanda 25-21, 25-16, 25-7. Chaminade also secured a win, defeating Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 25-14, 25-14, 25-23. In Division 3, Corona del Mar defeated Mayfield 25-20, 25-14, 20-25, 20-25, 15-12.
Division 4-10 Results
In Division 4, Diamond Bar defeated Heritage Christian 19-25, 25-17, 19-25, 26-24, 15-8, while Portola won against Western Christian 3-0. La Canada also emerged victorious, defeating San Dimas 25-17, 25-20, 25-18. In Division 6, Oakwood defeated Desert Christian Academy 3-0, and Garden Grove Pacifica won against Western 3-0. In Division 8, Foothill Tech defeated University Prep 25-18, 25-11, 22-25, 25-14, and Rancho Alamitos won against Holy Martyrs 3-2. In Division 10, River Springs Magnolia defeated Noli Indian 3-0, and Colton won against Packinghouse Christian 25-21, 27-25, 27-25.
Upcoming Schedule
The next round of the playoffs is scheduled to take place on October 23 for Divisions 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10, and on October 25 for Divisions 3, 5, 7, and 9. The quarterfinals for Division 1 will take place on October 28, while the quarterfinals for Divisions 2-10 will take place on October 29. The semifinals are scheduled for November 1, and the finals will take place on November 8.
