According to Adams, being Miss Teen USA is not just about wearing a crown, but about representing kindness, compassion, and her home state. Her platform, Compassion in Action: A Movement not a Moment, focuses on promoting inclusion and kindness.
Volunteer Work and Personal Experience
Adams has been volunteering at Best Buddies, a nonprofit organization that promotes one-on-one friendships and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, for five years. She has also overcome her own struggles with a speech impediment, which has given her a deeper understanding of the importance of inclusion.
Through her work with Best Buddies, Adams met Mikayla Holmgren, the first woman with Down syndrome to compete in Miss Minnesota USA. The two have formed a strong bond, working together on an inclusive fashion show called Dreaming Big Without Limits, which aims to promote acceptance and understanding.
