Severe Thunderstorms Spark Multiple House Fires in North Texas
Firefighters responded to flames shooting out of the roof of a home in Frisco, Texas around 4:30 a.m. Friday morning, the flames erupted after a line of severe thunderstorms moved over the area.
The incident was one of several house fires that broke out in the region, with multiple reports of fires in Frisco, Dallas, and Denton County. According to officials, some of the fires were directly caused by lightning strikes from the severe thunderstorms.
Lightning Strikes and Severe Weather
As a line of severe thunderstorms spread hundreds of lightning strikes across North Texas, firefighters responded to multiple emergency calls. Video footage showed flames shooting out of the roof of a home in Frisco, near the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, around 4:30 a.m. Friday.
FOX 4 Dallas reported at least five other house fires that broke out around the same time, with officials confirming that some were directly caused by lightning strikes. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.
