Date:

Introduction to “I Love LA” on HBO

The star of “Shiva Baby” and the brains behind “Bottoms” is bringing her relatable Gen Z brand of comedy to HBO. Formerly known as the “Untitled Rachel Sennott Project,” “I Love LA” begins airing on HBO and HBO Max tonight, Nov. 2. Sennott, in addition to creating the series, stars, directs, writes, and produces it. She plays main character Maia, a 27-year-old talent manager living in Los Angeles with her boyfriend (Josh Hutcherson) and best friends (Jordan Firstman and True Whitaker).

Plot and Cast

When Tallulah (Odessa A’zion), Maia’s college friend, reenters her life, they’ll have to navigate how the time apart, ambition, and new relationships have changed them. In her positive review of the series, Decider Features Creator Hope Sloop wrote, “Anyone who has ever had a frenemy, felt lost in their mid-twenties, or developed an unhealthy addiction to matcha and their iPhone will find themselves in stitches at the show’s outrageously funny scenes and storylines.” The cast includes Rachel Sennott as Maia, Odessa A’zion as Tallulah, Jordan Firstman as Charlie, True Whitaker as Alani, Josh Hutcherson as Dylan, Moses Ingram, and Lauren Holt.
