Date:

Texas Rangers Crush Angels 20-3 with Four Home Runs

The Texas Rangers had a night to remember as they blew out the Angels 20-3 on Wednesday, with Adolis García, Joc Pederson, and Kyle Higashioka each hitting a three-run homer. The game was a display of the Rangers’ batting power, with Corey Seager also going deep for a team-leading 21st time. The Angels, on the other hand, struggled to contain the Rangers’ offense, with Jack Kochanowicz giving up 11 runs in just 3 1/3 innings.

A Dominant Performance by the Rangers

The Rangers’ dominance began in the first inning, with García’s 17th home run highlighting a four-run inning. Pederson added to the lead in the second with his seventh home run of the season, making it 7-1. Seager’s two-run shot in the fourth further extended the Rangers’ lead. The Angels’ pitching struggled to keep up, with Kochanowicz’s ERA rising to 6.81 after the game.

The Rangers’ offense showed no signs of slowing down, with Higashioka’s 10th homer coming in the seventh inning off Oswald Peraza, who had moved to the mound from first base. Peraza allowed eight runs while getting just one out, with all 21 pitches he threw coming in at between 30 and 40 mph. The Rangers’ 20 runs were their most since a 20-6 win over Minnesota in 2011.

Key Performances and Statistics

García, Pederson, and Higashioka each had five RBIs, with García’s home run being a key moment in the game. The Angels were leading 1-0 when García homered, turning the momentum in the Rangers’ favor. Wyatt Langford also had a notable game, reaching base all five times and scoring four runs before being replaced by a pinch-runner in the seventh.

Jacob Webb pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, helping to secure the Rangers’ win. The Angels, on the other hand, will look to bounce back in their next game, with left-hander Tyler Anderson scheduled to start in the opener of a four-game series in Houston on Friday.
