Denver, Boston University, Boston College, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Michigan State have all experienced at least one losing season in the same time period.
The series has also been marked by competitiveness, with no team dominating the other. There has been only one sweep in the last nine years, and only one back-to-back sweep in the last 30 years. No team has won more than five games in a row in the last two decades, and there has been only one four-game winning streak in the same span.
