After a tough double-overtime loss to No. 7 Maryland on Sunday, the Minnesota women’s basketball team rebounded with a resounding 82-44 victory over Alabama A&M at Williams Arena on Wednesday. The Gophers’ win showcased their resilience and ability to bounce back from a disappointing loss, demonstrating the team’s growth and determination.

Redshirt junior Mara Braun achieved a significant milestone, scoring eight points to surpass 1,000 career points. This accomplishment highlights Braun’s dedication and hard work, solidifying her position as a key player on the team. Tori McKinney led the team with 13 points, four assists, and two steals, while Brylee Glenn added 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds.

Makena Christian made a notable contribution off the bench, scoring 12 points on 4-for-6 shooting from 3-point range. The Gophers’ impressive teamwork resulted in 27 assists on 34 made baskets, demonstrating their ability to work together seamlessly. The Gophers outrebounded the Bulldogs 33-30 and limited their turnovers to just five, while forcing 16 turnovers, including 11 steals. Rakiyah Beal was the only Alabama A&M player to reach double figures, scoring 12 points for the Bulldogs.
